deki asked me to make one out of an idea I had during our IRC chat. I guess when something like 'imagine this...' comes up, it's worth considering making a comic out of it.
On a side note, gelatinous cubes really got into my mind when I was watching that new Katy Perry video. Check out 1:34.

This is the first picture I did in the new series, sometime April or May 2010.
The German text is a slightly changed children's prayer rime originally meaning

Lisa Simpson Story

This one is hard to understand when you aren't a Simpsons fan. In one of the episodes, there is a reference to a 5th level vegan being a person who mustn't eat anything that throws a shadow.
Making a mastodon corpse, which is a massively huge animal, invisible, is a very nice way to stick to that rule and still eat the steak of your life.

I started this series during the /devnull 2009 tournament when some people were discussing the performance of their bots running into loops. Most of the bots were valkyries, so I used my 'absurdification' technique to blame it on that fact, rather than on a flaw in the bot's code.

A Late Introduction

Rather, I tell you that if you are interested in NetHack and its derivatives, the best way to find a great crowd of people to enjoy it with is to go to IRC, load up freenode and /join #nethack.de, #nethack and/or #unnethack.

I will be there often, as will a lot of friendly and helpful people.

Well but then again, you probably know all of this already, because I assume most of the people who read my blog come from there.

I started drawing comics some time before the /devnull tournament in 2009, and have been since. Ideas come irregularly, sometimes none, sometimes many, but I suggest you check by regularly if you don't want to miss out on something funny.

Nightclub alchemy

Another mention of the infamous Vendor. Just a quick visit to the imaginary land of what you could do with specific items if you combined them to create something completely new.

Ssssleek Sssseduction

This is my first try at a multi-step comic, although the only one back then. The German subtext would read something like

"Eeek! A lounge lizard!"

in English. The female character has been seduced by what she thought was an incubus but turned out to be a chameleon. She complains about it now, using a swear word that contains a hint at the fact that the evildoer was something from the lizard class of the monsters.

A dark merchant approaches...

This is the first appearance of a certain entity that will later pose as some kind of running gag ill-wishing merchant. NetHack veterans will of course recognize the similarity to the name of another infamous person, and who knows who is behind that 'mask'? ;)
